Today, I am celebrating far more than examination grades. I am celebrating seven remarkable young people who worked with courage, believed in themselves and are ready for their next chapter.
As Principal of MEPA Academy, I could not be prouder of our Class of 2026. Across 56 subject entries, our students achieved an overall pass rate of 83.9%, and every learner passed at least five subjects at grade 4 or above. Each result represents hours of effort, moments of resilience and the determination to keep going.
There is much to celebrate across the curriculum. Seventy-one per cent achieved grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics, with 29% securing grade 5+ in both subjects. Science, art, geography, BTEC sport, BTEC performing arts and BTEC business each achieved a 100% grade 4+ pass rate.
This success belongs to our students - and to every family member and member of staff who encouraged them along the way.
Half of all results were at grade 5 or above and approximately 9% were at grade 7+. Two students passed every subject they entered at grade 4+, while one achieved grade 5+ in every subject, including two grade 7+ results. I am delighted by these achievements, but even prouder of the confidence and ambition behind them.
Most importantly, every student has secured a destination in further education or professional training. Knowing that each young person is moving forward with a clear next step is the outcome that means the most to me.
To our Class of 2026: I am immensely proud of you. Take this confidence into everything that comes next, and remember that the whole MEPA Academy community is cheering you on.
